The Ward Road residence enjoys uninterrupted views of Swan Bay and its uniquely Australian environment of moonah trees, mangroves, wetlands and grasslands.
The design of the dwelling is a contemporary response to the typical double-storied beach houses that were prevalent throughout the 1950’s in Victoria’s coastal towns. The simple rectangular from, the flat roof, the incorporation of decks and balconies are all interpreted in a contemporary form.
The siting and design of the residence maximizes the use of natural air flows, natural light and solar gain, and offers the occupants expansive views across Swan Bay.
The extensive use of natural timbers represent the coastal environment, and over time have weathered to compliment the surrounding coastal vegetation.
