Chris Manton is a founding Director of JAM Architects. Since 1998 Chris has led the practice and established an extensive folio of built works across all sectors. He continues to service both corporate and private Clients and has direct involvement in all aspects of a project’s evolution.

Chris has a sound reputation for his strategic thinking and for delivering creative and practical design responses whilst managing the commercial imperatives of a project. He has developed strong professional relationships with industry, including long associations with planners, engineers and other expert consultants across many disciplines.

He has a keen interest in ensuring the practice’s IT capabilities are at the forefront of industry standards.

Chris is skilled in navigating the complexities of the Planning and Regulatory processes of local government and V.C.A.T. He has successfully represented many Clients at V.C.A.T. as an expert witness and is well versed in the complexities of the legal, planning and architectural processes.

Chris has worked and travelled extensively through Europe, America and Asia. Within the local arena he is responsible for several significant projects including the redevelopment of Finger Wharf (Woolloomooloo) retail and hospitality precinct. He has seen the completion of the Smith & Co redevelopment in Collingwood and is currently responsible for the major development of East Brunswick Village. Along with these larger scale projects he has applied his skills to more intimate projects such as the James Street Gallery and Noble Street Residence. He brings a wealth of experience to all projects and guides the underlying design principles of the practice.

As a Director and senior design architect Cameron is an intrinsic part of our leadership team. With over 20 years’ experience he is skilled in all aspects of project delivery, from inception through to construction.

Cameron’s strengths include an ability to articulate, translate and deliver designs with a high level of architectural integrity. This is evident in the numerous projects within his portfolio, including Moubray Street Residence, Alexander Crescent Residence and the recently completed Foam Road Residence. These projects demonstrate Cameron’s ability to interpret his Client’s needs, his affinity with site and his attention to detail.

In addition to the many private residences Cameron has been responsible for, he has also overseen the design, documentation and construction of many apartment and town house developments.

Cameron’s contribution to Architecture extends beyond the practice. He regularly participates in Deakin University’s Masters programme as a guest juror.

Kathryn is a founding Director of JAM Architects Pty. Ltd.

With over 30 years’ as a professional designer Kathryn’s project experience encompasses private commissions, residential, commercial, hospitality, educational and public works projects.

In her capacity as Director of Interior Design at JAM she shares a thorough knowledge of the design process, from deciphering the complexities of a Clients’ brief through to design, administration and project management. This methodical approach is coupled with her sensitivity to our Clients’ aspirations and expectations, commercial realities and the broader project context.

Drawing on her Interior Design, Architectural and Conservation studies and with a keen interest in landscape design Kathryn approaches each design challenge holistically. She recognises that all design disciplines are interwoven and work together to create innovative, beautiful and successful design outcomes.

Vukan is a highly skilled leader with over 30 years of practical experience in residential, commercial, industrial and public sector buildings. He has extensive experience in managing and coordinating multiple project teams through all phases from design and documenting to detailing, construction and contract administration.

Vukan has significant communication, public relations, problem-solving & technical expertise and leadership skills, combined with in-depth knowledge of The Building Code, Australian Standards, The Planning Act and DDA requirements, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the legal framework and work of other consultants.

Vukans’ extensive knowledge is based on his broad education and professional experience, both overseas and in Australia. His role within the office is one of Prtoject Leader as well as mentoring other team members. Vukan has travelled extensively, closing in on 50 countries over 5 continents , having visited or lived. He has always used that magnificent opportunity to explore the locally applied construction and architectural practices, the historical and current building techniques and compare the urban planning heritage with their modern counterpart trends.

Vukan is from a family of architects, structural and civil engineers, developers and builders, that has for generations been deeply established in the building industry.

Zeljko has over 30 years of experience in Architecture on a variety of disciplines and project typologies. His responsibilities range from conceptual design, design development and detail design to management and client and stakeholder liaison.

Zeljko has proven design skills and construction knowledge predominantly in the commercial, education and multi-residential, sectors in Australia and Europe. He is particularly focused on conceptual design, visual presentation and graphics, Project Management and Client/Stakeholder liaison. He also has a background in Environmental sustainability, building processes and regulatory codes, Construction Details and interfaces, Building information modelling (BIM) implementation, policies and guidelines.

He is also a lecturer and sessional tutor in BIM and combined design and construction subjects at Deakin University and University of Melbourne.
