Chris Manton

B Arch (Hons) 1991 RMIT, AssocDip Architectural Technology 1988 RMIT, Member AIA, Registered Architect

Chris is the founding Director and Principal Architect of JAM. An honours graduate from RMIT, Chris has over 20 years’ experience with highlights that include award-winning private residences to opportunities to design nationally significant projects. Chris has overseen the development of the practice and has grounded the firms’ highly regarded reputation within the architectural and building industries. He has considerable experience in Planning matters and has successfully presented many VCAT applications.



Kathryn Alexander

BA  Interior Design 1989 RMIT, GradDip Interior Design (Restoration and Conservation) 1994, Member D.I.A.

With more than 20 years experience as a professional Interior Designer, Kathryn’s project experience encompasses private commissions, residential projects, corporate fit-outs, commercial & hospitality projects and public works commissions.

In her capacity as Director of Interior Design, she shares a thorough knowledge of the the design process, from deciphering the complexities of a Clients’ brief through to design, administration and project management. This methodical approach is coupled with her sensitivity to our Clients’ aspirations and expectations, commercial realities and overall context.

Kathryn is a Member of the Design Institute of Australia and actively contributes to the design sector in offering career experience to future and imminent graduates.


Stephen Lightbody

Bachelor of Architecture RMIT

Since Completing his Architecture Degree in 1995 Stephen has had more than 20 years professional experience across a broad range of residential, hospitality, leisure, institutional, aged care and commercial projects.

Joining JAM Architects in 2002, Stephen has overseen the delivery of many high density mixed-use commercial projects most notably the redevelopment of Footscray Plaza Shopping Centre, Cubo apartments in Richmond and an 85 million dollar mixed use development in the heart of Smith Street Collingwood comprising of 230 apartments and a Coles Supermarket.

In his current Associate position Stephen is now applying his extensive experience and construction knowledge as JAM’s project leader on the East Brunswick Village Development that will see the 29,000m2 site host 10 buildings accommodating a mixture of residential, retail and commercial offices.


Cameron Fry

March 2002 Deakin University

Cameron has over 18 years industry experience, with 14 years post graduate experience. He is an ARBV registered architect since 2007, and a member of the Australian Institute of Architects.

In his role as Associate at JAM Architects, Cameron implements his well rounded skill set – including conceptual design, design detailing, documentation and contract administration/construction knowledge to deliver high quality results of high architectural integrity. He is involved from the commencement to the conclusion of projects, and focuses on single dwellings, low scale townhouse developments and office developments, up to mid-range multi residential apartment buildings.

Cameron’s work includes apartment buildings to Church Street Richmond, Cromwell Road South Yarra, Carlisle Street St Kilda, Burnley Street Richmond and dwellings such as 72 Moubray Street Albert Park, 7 Alexander Crescent Point Lonsdale and 10 Foam Road Fingal.
